Service stamp

The 54 plate , 25k , 182, i'm buying has the 1st service stamp missing!

I told the seller, and i do believe he made a mistake, and got it done at 2 years, not , 2 years , or 12k miles.

The only issue with the warrenty is if somthing whent wrong ,that should of been done on the 1st service !

The seller has told me " he will stand any warrenty issues ".

I do trust the seller.

That leaves me 1 stamp short when i come to sell on!

How much do you think the 1st stamp is worth in resale value, for me to knock off the asking price? ive knocked him down £400 already!

Thanks

does he have a receipt / bill. i gen dont buy cars with just stamps in the book. look throu all the old bills etc. to see whats been done / need to be done.

The car is still under warrenty!

There would only be a problem if somthing when wrong ,that should of been done on the first service!

Ive spoken to Renault!

The seller say's he stand any warrenty issues concerning what should of been done on service one!

It's the fact that i will not have FRSH when i come to sell on, it will look full , but the keen eye will spot that it should of had one more stamp!

Do i make sence? ;o)

So how much should i ask him to knock off the asking price?

thanks

if the servive has been done, find out where and then take the book to them.. ta daaa full service history.

if its not been done, your warrenty is void

A golden rule when buying a car/house, no matter how much you love it.....if in doubt DON'T BUY IT.

  172
I have a 172 ff which is 4yrs old... i bought it at 2yr old with 11k on the clock. i got my brother (mechanic) to do the 1st service and kept all the receipts (tyres, discs, pads, filters, etc) to prove it. he will be doing my 36k service next month too.

to be honest i'd rather have a stampless service book with recipts to prove the parts have been changed and keep the £500+ i would have paid to a renualt garage.

on a seprate note my brake sensors and coil packs were replaced under warranty when it was 2.5yr old... again it didnt have offical service at the time.

also, my wifes mate has a 182 and her warranty has just expired. since buying it from new she's had endless engine problems. the last thing i heard was reg vardys had agreed to replace the entire engine after replacing several other parts (including ecu, plugs, coil packs, etc) and that didnt resolve the problem either. rather than having an out of warranty 182 with problems vardy offered her a discounted part exchange on a new megane which she took.

renault services dont mean much to me, renault arnt going to replace your car under warranty at the end of the day and their suppliers/garages dont care they just keep replacing part after part until the problem goes away (or not in many cases). as long as you have the car checked out and it hasnt been abused, the fact the service book isnt stamped wouldnt put me off... but thats just my opinion :p
