I have the iPod with colour screen (the one before the iPod Video) and it has always been very delicate. Now it won't turn on at all. I have followed all the instructions to the word. Ifthe battery has gone like some people have suggested, then I am appauled as I have barely used the thing since I bought it (mainly as it has not worked consistently).
Speaking to Apple, they want £40 just to look at it or £150 to change the battery (a new one is just over £200) - which means that they basically just want me to get a new one. Going on the Apple site, and the iTunes/iPod section, there is a whole (massive) section called Support. There are forums on there and loads of people seem to have the same problem.
This is totally unacceptable in my opinion, as £200 is a lot for something that doesn't work! What would people on here suggest I do? I have already emailed BBC Watchdog about it... just totally annoying as I have forked out for a digital link for my car too and have all my tunes in iTunes. Ideally I would switch to the Sony range, nothing I have bought from Sony has been short of great.
