Carbon Splitter - KTEC

Should carbon stone chip :S

The original renault splitters dont stone chip and just wondered why carbon would .. (I know they are different material)

Anyone else got one of these and had the same problem or is mine possibly faulty ?

The Carbon ones are laquered to make them shiny so will chip like normal paint. The amount of abuse the lower front end of the 182 gets it is going to as the front valence does normally.

The standard item is just plastic so it won't chip.

How much is a standard cup plastic splitter?

I want a splitter on my 172, but given how much abuse the front end gets, and how many speed bumps there are, i think the carbon one will get destroyed.

If not the Renault part, does anyone else make a plastic one?

I had a standard one, I paid £120 for it from Renault after my original fell off on the motorway, sold it on here and bought the carbon one .. wish i hadnt bothered now tbh.

Is there any way I can make the stone chips less obvious Rich ?

Should be able to touch them in with some clear laquer and maybe wet sand them smooth. Any pics of the extent of the damage?

No pics no, I only really notice them when I wash it

dont the touch up pens from halfords have laquer in them, clean it and try cover the stonechips with that maybe
