I also found out today that renault dont make 172s anymore..... shocking.

well, I know who I wouldn't trust to fit ITB's... basically it boils down to experience and customer support, i'd not trust a Jonny come lately to suddenly start fitting 5k engine installs after a few successful oil changes and filter relocations put it that way.
GDI and Angel Works are the only two companies who I think are competant enough to do the work 'properly' and know what they are doing, they are also the only 2 companies who I could deffinitely say have done all the work themselves and are solely responsible for completeing it all in house. ie from installing it mapping it...
Having said all that I'd still only take it to GDI (obviously
lol) for reasons I wont get into.
Loads of people can do these conversions or claim they can, I'd want one place that can do it all in house, so then any problems and they will have a better understanding. I mean there's no point having someone that got someone else to do the map for example, what if you then have bring it back? They wouldn't have a scooby

^what he said^ its not rocket science bolting on ITB's and installing a cable, some senors and a loom, you've got to be blind to c**k that up!

ben, if you get Wayne to map it you are probably best of using a DTA as well, no idea how much they cost compared to Omex or Motec etc etc
there must be a adaption plate, fabricated manifold to hook the jenvys up? or do they just bolt onto the head?:S

no idea, I'd speak to someone that's done the conversion themselves tbh ben, they should be able to tell you all you need to know.
There are a couple of points to think about also, like aircon goes. The people that tell you that you can keep this are simply talking arse too, if you want to keep the aircon go with a single body as ITB's with aircon means shorter trumpets and webber alpha like power... not really worth it. iirc you need a 172 cup alternator, but you will also need a custom PAS line for the part that connects to it. I had a hydraulics company use the original connecting ends and copper braize (sp?) it to some hydraulic stainless hosing.
I'd also lose the slam panel rather than cut it and get a custom type strut brace made or make one yourself if your worried. Plus its always good if you put back to standard if you come to sell.

inlet manifold, bodies and a throttle linkage is pretty much all you will need.
Then with the ECU, use whatever the mapper is happy with, as you will get better results.

ooo touchy... obviously people are intersetd, im interested in how much the kit costs by its slef.
so way will i jusfify the insurance on a ITBd clio
