Help! Door not locking!

  RB 182 cup,astra sri
last week, my alarm went off and i pressed my key too many times to quickly and after that, the passenger door wasnt locking. there was a whining noise coming from it whanever i tried to open or lock it.

today i got another lock and fitted it but its still not working. although it sounds like the normal noise coming from it, its slightly quieter as if something is still not working. as its a new lock, i cant think why its not working.

any ideas??? could it maybe be a loose wire or fuse that has shorted?

help would be much appreciated!

Check the door wiring plug where the door attaches to the car body.

i dont know what you mean by this? could you explain a bit more? i mean there is still power getting to the motor as its making a noise, its just not locking it

its a strange one. its unlikely that 2 units are broken. this makes me think its something to do with the electrics. should i maybe just get an auto electrician to look at it?
