Goodmans 42" 1080P tv for £599!

Just because it's 1080P doesn't mean it's good, in fact it'll be worse.
The TV needs to be capable of processing all of that info and keeping up with it; you'd be better off with a lesser spec at that price.

have you owned it or any 1080p tv ?
buzzing backlights uneaven backlight, not accepting rgb over scart, using pip causes screen issues also mine use dto just go blank with funny colored lines up it

If you want a GOOD quality tv then you have to pay the prices. No way in the world are the makers (Big boys Samsung Sony Sharp Pansonic) sell there top notch screens to the 3rd partys to rebadge them.
As which has happened with the pre 1080p displays, the 1st ones were expensive and poor and the current crop are very competitive, much better contrast etc and substantially cheaper.
If you want a cheap telly then go for it, if you want quality then dont.
