faulty electrics??

koi

Hiya,

Anyone have any ideas why this light keeps coming on?? Manual says it's an electrical fault, seems to come and go. Happened a few times now and the engine has stalled, luckily when I've been going slow, could this be related or is that just my pish driving?

Cheers

Nope electric fault warning light, could be a variety of things on a 1.2 16v. Needs to have the fault codes read to know what it is.

cool guess it's a trip to renault now, any ideas how much they will charge for this??

That light kept coming on in my 172 and then car would stall when you come to a stop, revs just keep on dropping and stalled. Took it to renault to put on clip and was the throttle body that was knackered. Needed a new one! Think bodies are a prob on the 1.2 too but dont quote me on that one. HTH

Yep they can be but the 1.2 has a folder of problems.

this happened to be and ended up having throttle body, spark plugs and new ECU!

omg how much did that end up setting you back??

Had it checked out, turns out the manifold sensor got contaminated with oil. Was told the parts won't be in till Monday and that they would park my car in the car park but when I popped in after work and it was sat in the street! Didn't like the idea of my car being parked up on the street for the whole weekend so ended up taking it home.

In my car there is a printout of the faults test, it had manifold pressure circuit and brake pedal sensor circuit on it. I'm guessing that these need changed, all for the grand total of £270!!!!

That was £270 well spent, the f*ckin light is back again!! Stalled a dozen times trying to get of the motorway in rush hour :dapprove:

Guess it's another trip back to Renault, they better sort it out this time!!

happened to my 1.2 all the time, used to cut out alot, took it to reno, said they fixed but it kept happening so i bought my 182:);)

Just found my bill from the last trip. They removed the manifold to clean and replace the map sensor.

It says labour guaranteed for 3000 miles/3 months so does this mean they should sort it out free of charge?

Well the sensor was changed again but was told that if the fault comes back it might be the throttle bodies, which I'm guessing is going to be pricey??

wiring loom will be at fault, your dealer should have known this map sensor always shows up with a loom fault.
When they change the loom make sure they clean the throttle body out as well.
