Heater is not hot enough..........

Hi all

When i start my car up and leave running for 5 mins, i turn the heater on and it comes out warm for a few mins then it turns cold. What could this be? i need to get it sorted as its getting colder now!!

its a clio 1.8 16v mk1. how long would u say, cos i left it till it got till 1/4 on the temp gauge

normal running temp... half way up the dial before it will be blowing its hottest.

Check for air blocks ie bleed it.

Tka it to a garage or as you said get a manaul its not difficult but Haynes does explain it.

on the 1.8 16v there is a bleed valve at the top of the rad on the passenger side.

did it work before you fitted this?

Leave it to stand over night and before u start it in the morning check the level of the expansion bottle, if it is low then you have possibly had air in the system,in this case just simply fill the bottle to the correct level and it shud be fine.
Check it for a few mornings to make sure its not going down ,if it is then u mite have a leak and this cud be drawing air in causing your heaters not to work very well
