Number plates and legal bits n bobs

Car  R.I.P 182
OK, now im looking at a private reg, but am in LOVE with the "smaller" plates some guys on here have.. are they legal?? And What about spacing??

I'd like it to look like others i've seen on here, but are they smaller on just front or back too? Fancy plates doesnt do them on back i dont think..

anyway.. help!!

I've got a 3.4 plate on the front, looks miles better. not been pulled yet and passed a lot of police with it on. Normal size on the back!

1st you are looking to trade the car in to save money because you cant afford it (against one which will actually cost more to run & is s**t) and now you're looking at buying a private plate... Have you been hanging about with Mofo Donna? ;)

This is mine. it has been cut down. It has passed a few MOTs as it was on my corsa. The spacing is legal etc.

You change your cars to much to have a private plate - will ,cost you a fortune in transfer fees ;)

anything apart from the standard size plite with standard lettering and correctly spaced and either GB, SCO logos etc are illegal. and you need the postcode of where you got the plates from to pass an mot clearly visible on the plate.

BUT its upto you what plate you want and how you have it. And whether the police in your area are strict!!

like in my town police wont do anything about an illegal plate , because their lazy!

Thats what i was thinking Si as alot onhere have smaller plates.. Mine are also lazy, lol.. but im so curious about these i think they look nice :)

Best to keep back plate standard?

yeah was debating it and struck the mini cooper S off my list lol it looks nice but itll cost more to run :( But as i said everytime i look at the car i love it! so gonna keep it abit longer n pay off more of it (unless im given a good offer for it lol) :)

No offence, but I don't think you should be even thinking of getting a new car untill you've paid off the one you got. You did make the right choice tho! :D

I'm a big fan on 3/4 plates on the front, but I'd live without one if it means getting a £30 fine. ;)

Ste's plate looks good above, but the 'empty' number plate surround on the bumper looks a bit odd..........
