172 Race Car
Sorry its a bit long but after some opinions...
Currently have in our household....
My very tidy '02' Flame Red 172 with 54k and one previous, middle aged owner
My GF's '99 'T' Fiesta 1.3
My works (company owned) van '07' full fat transit :approve:
I dont use my clio for work, so the milage has stayed low since ive owned it. Gf uses her fiesta for work and shopping etc and the clio sits there for sometimes weeks without being used. Went to a meet in it last night and i think it was 12 days since it was last used.
If were going anywhere together we tend to take the clio as its more comfortable, thats why i bought a tidy lowish mile full fat.
Problem is id like to use it more for track and airfield stuff next year when finances will allow. Have been to the south west airfield meets and loved it but always had in the back of my mind that if i clipped the tyres id be pretty gutted.
What were thinking about at the mo is to sell both cars, get my mrs a slightly better car for work and our social stuff (she wants a HDI 206) and get me a cheep ph-quick as a toy. possibly stripping it out ala superfastdan/markcup. wouldnt bother me having a anti-social car for the little miles i do on my own and then we'd have a decent car for everything else.
Looking at the prices of all the cars it seems possible to do the swap without having to spend much/any extra money. The HDI being much cheeper to run as the main car even than the fiesta she has currently, so she's well keen on the idea.
so we would have..
206 hdi for her work and as main car (driving to Germany and Poland next summer)
ph1 172 as my car/toy/track ****
She'd be happy having an better car day to day
I'd be happy having a car i was less worried about
Everyones a winner, I cant see any downsides, thats where u guys come in..............
