Cant remove shortcut on dsktop

I have removed the progrqam but the shortcut is still on my desktop How can i remove it tried right click then delete but it wont do it Im runnig Vista if that helps

No idea how to back up registry !

try a system restore if the shift-delete doesnt work.

Don't do anything of the sort. What happens when you try to delete it, do you get any messages of any sort? Remember as an Administrator on Vista you're still not an Administrator... :S

he's obviously downloaded some dodgy p**n that he can't get rid of, same happened to me! haha only got rid of it when i formatted the pc.

Start regedit.exe

Check under:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace

You may find it under there.

(Not sure if it migrates across to ?:\Users on an Upgrade, but on a clean, Vista-only install, it's moved to ?:\Users)

On upgrade it's migrated too. Partner Program only comes with Vista upgrade disks, which is kinda annoying.
