Wanted see what peoples thoughts are on this.
(I know the official line, im just interested)

If you have a 1.2 and you make it look like a 172/182/197 using renault parts only what would tell your insurance company?

  Clio 172 Cup
Surely you gotta tell them exactly what you've done.

Nothing but total honesty to avoid then contesting any claims.

Why don't you go and arrest the Polish t***s in my street that havn't got any tax or insurance. I've reported it to the Police 3 times but traffic officers are more interested in setting up speed traps in areas of wiltshire that arn't even accident blackspots!!

Piss take.

999 mate 999.

Anyway back to topic..

Why are you trying to change the subject? You havn't answered my question as to why Police resource is being deployed for safety camera's in areas that arn't accident blackspots? At the same time I'm being told the Police don't have the time to investigate a report of a foreign driver with no tax and insurance cover.

It doesn't warrant a 999 call as it's not an emergency incident. I've called the local Police three times and nothing has been done. These people are driving around without insurance and they're not even from this country.

If you think I can dial 999 then tell me your police number and I'll call 999 this evening. If they cause me a problem then I can tell them you advised me?

You don't know how annoying it is to see arrogant people who seek salvation in our country and can't even respect our laws. They park their illegal cars in really awkward places and drink out in the street and keep us up at night. Our neighbourhood was a nice tidy place until this trash rented a house and moved in.

open and direct in northern ireland. very good service:approve:

I just dont see the point in a replica. You cant afford it so you dont have it. Easy. You save for it (or finance it) and you get the proper thing.

Say the brilliantly done MR2 3sixy that was on here the other week. The fella who drives that knows, his mates know its not real and one day when he pulls up to the lights and there is one there, he will feel like a poor t**t imo.

With the 360 you dont see many around so you'd probably get away with it. On my drive to work I must see 4 RS clios. All might be replicas for all I know, but if I was driving the replica it would break my heart knowing that there was only a 1.2 under the bonnet.

At 17/18 you've got different priorities and a different disposible income than a couple of years down the line. IMO this is just another display of people wanting things today, yesterday. If you see what I mean. I'm boring and like the satisfaction that its taken along time to get a RS due to me not wanting to be bummed by insurance, so I'm going to enjoy it.

I'm sure not all on here will agree with me.

I'm glad I clicked on this thread. Very amusing.

Tom FFS will you get off your police horse and sort those Polish idiots out?

Oh, and on topic, declare everything. Except the bodykit and other add ons.

Yeah, you'd have to surely? You've made it look like a more desirable model.

PMSL though if some twocer stole it for a get away car.

Anyone with any sense would declare all modifications, even if it is using renault parts. I declared all my mods including 172 front rear bumper, 182 spoiler, engine etc. It is still classed as modifying a car regardless of the parts used, if it is changed in any way from how the car left the factory.

Mine wasnt a replica, but I declared evry mod.....Except colour coding.

  ValverInBits
TBH, it's much better that people do replicas than go for a CHAV wagon.
with the exception of Vee reps, we all know how that turns out!

it depends why and how your making the rep. In my mind it is well worth it, my parts I have got for pretty cheap, didn't need to spray them as its the same colour as my car, and i will sell the parts when i come to sell the car - money back.

I don't think it matters so much about the power as the running costs are terrible. When i can, i'll get a dci100 and get it remapped then make that into a rep. the power will be brilliant with amazing running costs, definitely worth it i think!

only tryin to make the ca look good, I would never replace my dCi badges with 2l badges as i am proud of what I drive and would never lie about it.

The parts i've highlighted don't make sense, proud of what you drive, so you made it look like a 172/182 ??? Or am I wrong ?

How does that work ?:S

  185lb/ft dCi
I am proud of what I drive, I am simply enhancing the looks of it. It will always have a dci engine under the bonnet and if someone asked me what car I had, I will say I have a clio 1.5 dci. Not a 2l sport rep like most of the people with 1.2s do.

I want people to think I have a dci rather than a rep.

I'm not going to stick some ridiculous bodykit on it which would cost me arm and a leg, and I'd never see a penny back. I'd rather do it this way, where I am not losing out. You should speak to c.slicker hes made enough money out of parts!
