Female car insurance

  Clio 182
ie Diamond/Sheila's Wheels - any of the CS girls had much better quotes with these type of insurance companies?

  LY V6 with Recaros
Sheilas Wheels wouldn't quote me on the 182, was too big engine :S Diamond were about £200 more than Admiral/Elephant and they're all the same company.

  Hyundai i40
wen i was younger diamond was the cheapest i cud get but nower days i dont find them any cheaper

  Clio 1.6 16v Dynamique+
Tried diamond, wanted 800 when i drove my KA! I've tried every year but none of the women only are any cheaper IMO.. all a kimick

Sheila's Wheels won't quote me because I work in the media...

I'm now confused they wouldn't quote you due to the engine size - it all seems so random!

Have you tried privilege...

Used to be with them but they were then too expensive on renewal.

Am with Greenlight this year but Diamond are coming in £100 under and the cheapest I've found so far.

That's weird, I'm insured with them! Far cheaper than anyone else as well. I pay £29 a month.

I found Privilege expensive on renewal as well.

I guess with your job they think you'll be driving round with Madonna in the back.

:S How did you get your quote then, online?? I barely got past the first few boxes, put the industry in and that was it 'sorry we cannot quote you due to...'

Think it's unfair that an industry can affect it...

  Citroen C4 Coupe
Shiela's Wheels are best for me, bout £30 a month, until I added the fella, now it's about £55!!

I get fucked twice, once for motortrade and once for being born with a penis so count yourself lucky. If you're having issues getting cover then change it to office worker or similar. It's not stretching the truth as you may work for a media company but you do a secreterial/administration type role you're not on camera.

I do put my job type in where I can instead but some companies put industry only hence why I've been refused quotes in some companies.

Did it online - mine doesn't come under arts, entertainment and broadcasting.

You should call them because as Loony says, that category refers to 'celebs' - they won't quote you in case they have to pay Elton John squillions of pounds after you crash taking him to the pub.

Can't understand why your job's not listed!

Also worth looking at esure - where a damn site cheaper than anywhere else this year when I was shopping around. Have not actually used them just as a price match.

  182 has now gone!
Shelias wheels wont quote me either, same prob as debs.. engine to big???
Was with diamond years ago when I first passed my test, but now find them more expensive, compared to direct line, who I am with now.

i think women only companies should be banned - very sexist IMO ;)

Yep, the difference between a good driver and a bad one is obviously the fact that one has a nut sack and the other one dosent, didnt you know that.

I wonder....what about pre op transexuals, do they get 'lady' insurance too??! hmmm I might be able to save myself a few quid on my renewal if that's the case, whack one of my gf's dresses on send them a photo and tell them I'm a fat tranny, it's worth a pop.

It's tough always being right but it's a burden I deal with ;)

Men just think they are always right, there's a difference ;)

Alaways been rubbish for me, have you tried A Plan ?

They are on the list to call, got the letter in my bag - shame they don't do an online quote though.

  LY V6 with Recaros
I found A plan were quite high for me, they couldn't get my quote under £2000!! Greenlight have quoted me £441, my renewal with Privilage wasn't that good, no cheaper than last years and I'm 25 now.

  Ultra 197 ex 172 Cup
my girl tried sheilas wheels for her pug 205 git, and they were more than tesco insurance adn every other insurance company she tried

How do you get a lower quote with Greenlight than me??!!
I'm 38, been driving since 1989 with no claims or points and full no claims.
and Essex can't be much different than Surrey/South London :S
I'm a bit pissed off I pay more! My car isn't even modified and it's probably older than yours and I do bugger all mileage!

Postcode crime stats, is Deb's on a driveway or better still in a garage rather than just a parking space etc. So many variables come in to play, also her excess may be different, you can lower your premium by taking a higher voluntary excess with some companies.

I managed to get the new Clio insured in my girlfriends name with me as a named driver. Bearing in mind she is a learner driver and has no ncb, based on 10k a year and a £9k car it came in at £300. This was with Diamond. I nearly fell off my chair.

I know you're kidding, but I totally agree......Either that or there should be men only companies too.

Can't bring myself to call diamond or shelia's even though I drive past the pink car everyday in Reigate lol

I'm with Directline.....easiest company to deal with when you have mods.....even Greenlight weren't interested, although in fairness that was because of someone I wanted to add to my policy and their history. So I went with Directline....think I pay about £40 a month

Bloody hell, I remember paying about 1k for my very first second hand car for insurance!!!

It still doesn't seem fair though, I know my car is faster/higher group but surely I should be less of a risk on the roads than a new driver?! (in a car worth more than mine too!).

God knows Karen, I was expecting it to be about a grand as well. Maybe her being a policewoman helped?

Yes my car is parked on the driveway, my excess is £250. I only got the quote and took the policy out this month though, I got a quote less than a year ago with Greenlight and it was double the price of the recent quote. Perhaps they've just gone down recently, I don't know...

I was shocked at how cheap it was though as my renewal with Privilage was a couple of hundred more than that, and by far the best quote apart from Greenlight.

Thought you ladies got cheap insurance ?

Will do when we are as old as you :rasp:

The cheek of it I am 22 ...

Will do when we are as old as you :rasp:

Lol, I think Rich is only 6months older than you if that. It's probably more down to the fact he does about 80 miles a year and his is unmodified. Having said that I pay alot less than you I'm 28 too and have points and mods.

LOL @ 80 miles, have it down for 6K a year just in case lol - car has not done that.

Well at least being girlies we pay less than all these irresponsible males who are let loose on the roads ;)

There is one advantage to being over 30 hehehe - I'm looking forward to seeing how cheap the insurance will be on an R26!! :)

I know it was a joke lol

I have points and mods insured too, no point amending my policy for a couple of months now the mods have gone, I am insured for increased milage and business use also so other than that it must be down to area, hair colour, number of legs etc ?
