does this price sound about right?

Just phoned a couple of bodyshops in my area about getting my door handles and side strips colour coded pearl black, and the best quote i got was £180 cash in hand. surely it can't be that expensive can it?

i'd say that was top end but not excessive - get a couple more quotes and i'm sure it'll be around 120-180ish inc VAT.

Cost me £60 to do my cup spoiler, just to put things in proportion.

I would expect to pay no more than £100 for sidestrips and door handles tbh.

He isnt a mate, i jus work part time at a bike shop he uses, hes only seen me once or twice. He is the best sprayer in the area though. So what should it be? Nearer £200? A chap who knows his stuff who i know said £250 from another company without the spoiler was about right.

it depends on the body shop mate, if you go to a bigger shop it will be more expencive because they have to abide by the rules and regulations set by govenment which costs more money so you have to pay more but if you go to some dodgy looking bloke with no spray booth and sprays it with a free bee spray gun he got when he bought his 25 ltr clark air compressor then he obviously wont charge as much. you get what you pay for imo bud and at least if you pay that bit more and they come out crap you have more reason to argue and get them done again but if you pay peanuts to have it done and then they turn out crap the dodgy old bloke will simply say "well what did you expect for that sort of price".
