scanning for unsecured wifi

currently using a neighbours unsecured network, if i say was in car how do you search for unsecured networks in the loacal area? would you have to start stop car in street while searching or when obviously not driving myself just continually refresh what connections available

some people are useless. How hard is it to secure a wirless network, or even to search google how to do it! lmao.

The 3 routers i've set up have all been complete c***s, i don't get how a "normal" person would ever set up a secure network.

what are you on??? normally all u need to do to set it up as secured is goto the router setting's, select the encryption, set a password, and press save ??

Netstumbler running on a laptop with a GPS connection.

Of course, using the data you find to connect to networks would be illegal obviously and you'd deserve to be smacked with the long arm of the law!

mines a b**ch to set up as well, need to connect it with cable to the computer to secure it, so less hastle to turn it off when not in use.

netstumbler as mentioned about, doesnt even matter if they arent broadcasting the SSID, it still picks it up

sure as hell wont stop me.

i personally leave mine unsecured when im away. im not using it, so someone else may as well.

Wireless security is easy peasy to sort out.

Hook up via a cable obviously, set the encryption mode, password, mac filtering, and done.

Before you do read this http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/6958429.stm

Petty if you ask me but thats th law

LOL at petty.

If you left your car door open and the keys in the ignistion, you'd have no problem with me taking it for a spin then? How about I put it round a track while I'm at it?

Or would you call me a c**t for taking something that I have no right to, and that someone else has paid for?

my mate reckons hes got a satelite dish that scans for unsecured wifi in a 20 mile radious and makes use of any free internet!

thats what i thought, but he reckons he was deadly serious and is on about flogging them!

I said Iv never seen or heard of em before!

Belkin can sometimes be a right pain to get security working!
netsumbler is very handy.
