Sub problem

  Clio 1.2 Billabong 53
Hi.

When i turn my music up quite loud the sub cuts out. Is this because my amp is not powerful enough?

I have to restart the engine to get it going again?

Thanks

i imagine you need to turn stereo off then back on, in which case i'd say the amp wasn't powerful enough. if you need to turn the engine off then back on i'd say it was something different, maybe a problem with the amp making it overheat.

could be a few things;

1, amplifier earth...
2, incorrect power supply cable...
3, incorrect gain setting on amp...
4, point of high resistance in the amps power circuit,(could be loose connection, faulty fuse, poor amp earth, poor battery to chassis grounding)...

without knowing system specs it's all guesswork, but i would suspect amp earth or gain set too high....

Could also be that you have the gain too high and the signal is clipping. Might also be that your battery is not well charged. maybe the RCA cable is not in properly?
