Paint the grey area in the headligt

Hey im new here and from sweden so sorry if my english is bad.

Does anyone know if i can take the headlamp apart easily and paint the

grey plastic area in the same color as my car

probably not but you can get the headlights with black instead of grey

i dunno how they are sealed on the mk2's, i know with the mk1 you can throw them in the oven and it melts the sealant, you can take the glass out then reseal.

are mk2's plastic?

Ive seen this done on a Mk2, the gray part of the lamp was sprayed blue to match the car.... looked MINT!

It was on a show car in modified nationals in 2006.
