PIC REQUEST: stripped rears and mounting points

want to see how various people have mounted there harnesses in the rear, i am looking at 4 points so if people have images of those all the better

Not a good idea mate, if you get shunted up the rear and bend your c pillar your harnesses will go slack. Ideally they should be mounted to a harness bar on a cage but the lower rear seat belt points (usually under the rear bench) would be safer.

ummmm....last time i posted pics of them bolted to the lower rear seat belt points, other people int he past also, i was told its the unsafest point possible, as in a crash it would pull down on your shoulders compressing your spine...? dosent sound to healthy

Yeah your right, the angle of the belt coming over the top of the seat needs to be around 90 degrees. But IMO the lower points are safer than c pillar mounting, as long as you have NON-reclining buckets and your strapped in ok the seat back will not compres and therefore not compress your spine.

EDIT/ Spine compression is why reclining seats (as those found in Trophys/Scoobys/Ferrari Enzo etc) are NOT FIA appproved and should never be used with harnesses. Rigid backed seats only.

Looks like 2 tapped lugs have been welded in.

There is definately one either side, i had mine on there for a while before i had the cage built, but they are offset to the centre of the seat, therefore the harness i had went to one side and pulled on one shoulder more.

I think he has had another bolt hole put in, thats a good way to do it if you dont want a harness bar.

iirc he had to get a longer eylet to fit the right hand one into the hole in the trim panel. My cage bolts into that hole

Nah only the one mate, Mark Fish added the extra one in, got the reinforcement plate behind it as well
