Anyone know where i can get a 172 gearbox

Anyone know where i can get a 172 gearbox to fit a phase 1 172... ?looks like mine is buggered.

Also does anyone know the labour costs involved in such an operation?

It's about a 3 - 4 hour job for the 'box IMO.

Change the clutch at the same time too mate, you might as well, seeing as it's only a £100 part.

Its making a whining noise when accelerating and a grinding noise when i lift off the accelerator.

two seperate mechanics have diagnosed it as the Gearbox...

had this on my astra. 1 day before it was due to be fixed, it fell apart and litterd the road with metal!

Damn cars... My sister has a crx vtech and is constantly working on it.. I dont know how she puts up with it
