First MOT. What should i look out for??

Want to make sure that my car is prepared well for its first MOT since i have bought it. I have two new front tyres on the way (contisports) and i am getting a big service next week, aswell as my tracking set up.

Getting all the plugs changed, oil changed.. going to change my wiper blades aswell. All bulbs, lights indicators etc aree fine.

Any advice on preparing the car properly ?? what things to get checked out?? because it hasnt been serviced for 10,000 miles. Im a fool.

check everything like you have said, make sure its warm, though at work the mot guy will leave the car at fast idle if its cold, not everywhere will do this

its the first mot since i bought it bud.
Its a 54plate

replacing front two tyres just now as one is bald. All lights are good

ifs its haveing a full service they will pick up anyting thats wrong with it.

there's loads to check for but, as said, if it's being given a full service by a decent mechanic, they should pick up any real problems during the inspection service

if you've got a Haynes manual, there's a MoT check section at the back (any manual - it's a generic checklist). lots of stuff in there that wouldn't necessarily be picked up by a service - cracked nr. plates, chipped screen, etc etc

thanks for the input guys. Got my french plates on just now so will probably have to swap them for the normal ones
