spraying!

just resprayed a cup spoiler in RB, rubbed it down with some 1500 wet and dry.
dryed with a heat gun and left to stand for a good 20mins between coats

went as followed,
primerd x2 coats
rubed down 1500 paper
primer
white coat
left over night to dry through
rub down 1500 paper
white coat
RB x 2
rub down 1500 paper
RB
laquer x 2

lwtting it sit for a few hours now but it still feels a little rough though am i doing something wrong??

doesnt look very shiney either (no reflection init!).

you probs havnt put enough laquer on it mate it will be all dry and have similar feel to the 1500. next time put more laquer on on each coat then it should be shiny as normal . you could either flat it back gently untill the laquer has gone totally dull and feels smooth then use a cutting compount like g3,tcut etc etc and polish the f**k out of it that may get it to a good shine it wil be hard work but worth it . if you havnt put enough lacquer on in total though when you flatting it down you may go through the laquer and onto the paint this will then requre re spraying ,it would be best to spray a light coat of primer over were yo have gone through and flat it down then repaint . il let it dry for a bit and il give it a few more coats later see if it works, if not il have a go at what you said, cheers matt

20 mins between coats?

I would have left the primer to dry for a day or two, Rub down then a dust of primer.

If all good leave it 30 mins to dry somewhere warm...

White coat, Leave to dry for a day, Flat, Another coat, Flat (day to dry)

Then the RB coat, Leave a day or two to let dry in between.

Laquer (but i would have waited for the warmer weather!) Seems to dry much clearer when warm).

Left a day or two in between the coats (i think 2 or 3 coats best) And flatted with 3000, 2000 grit.

Then once happy, Polish up with scratch X or simular.

Seems you may have rushed the process? I find taking time is the best option... But im still not that great at it !

get the laquer on it until the coat looks shiny but not too wet so that its drippy.. then leave it to stand for 30 mins. i made a mistake of puttin light coats of laquer on it and ended up puttin a thousand coats because the coats laquer wasnt 'wet' enough..

yeah should of left it to dry at normal temperature... in my experience it made it hazy kinda looking when i dried it with hair dryer

il leave it for now see how bad or good it looks on the car when i fit t, if its a crap jobby il get it in to a bodyshop, going to a few shows this year!!!

If it looks orange peely/ no shine to it, you haven't put enough lacquer on is the simple answer.

It'll need a polish in week or so to bring up the shine. PC ftw!!!

I apply 3 pretty heavy coats of lacquer, leave it a week or two, then light wet sand with say some 2000 grit, then use some Menzerna Intensive Polish with a PC

This is where you went wrong, you have made the primer smooth by sanding with 1500, then you have made it rough again by spraying more primer on, why are you applying white anyway? If the spoiler is RB it will be fine to spray RB directly onto the primer.
