1.2 16v missfire/cutting out

Ok having a problem with a friends car. Its an 02 plate with a 1.2 16v engine.

She says a managment light comes on when slowing for lights etc and it will cut out. She also says that if she unplugs a sensore which is placed at the top left hand side of the cam box it will run ok for a few hours. I am unsure of what part this is though, The numbers off the top of said part are

7700101762

Any help would be great

It's a nightmare to get to though so probably isn't that.
