clio ignition and carb swop

  clio 1.2
Hi all
I am new to this forum and i have a question for the brain boxes on here

I have an n reg 1.2 clio with the early e7f energy engine in and i was wondering if i was to change the standard spi and ecu and fit the twin choke weber carb/inlet and ignition setup off the early renault 19 1.4 e7j which i have.
Would this perform better and by how much....
Has anybody ever done this mod.....
Any info would be gratefull.....thanks

Hello can anybody shed me some light on this,by the lack of reply i guess nobody has done this, but would of thought it would make a bit more power...
How good are these engines for tuning, and has anybody ever tuned one,,,ie headwork and cam, twin carbs, and other stuff.....

yes it would perform better as long as the carbs are set up right, mechanic explained to me for n/a engines.
ok - single throttle body
better - twin carbs
best - full throttle bodies

hardest part will be setting up the carbs and keeping them set up right, don't know about fuel pump and ecu though. I'm sure some of the more compentent technicials on cs will be along to offer advice soon enough!

thank for the reply...I have to stick with the 1171cc because i will be racing in autograss class 2 which is a 1300cc max class with it..
100/120bhp sounds good
As for setting up it will go on a dyno so it will be spot on

Single carb, twin choke. Not twin carbs ala DCOE's.

I will be fitting the single twin choke 32/36 dgv weber carb alot better performer than the ren 19 1.4 carb....
