The handset, dubbed the HTC Hero, will be available in the UK next month. It features a five-megapixel camera, built-in GPS and a digital compass for simple navigation, 3.2in touch-screen, a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, and an accelerometer that can sense whether the phone is being held in portrait or landscape. It has 512MB of integrated memory which can be expanded to 16GB using a microSD memory card.
The phone has an angled bottom, intended to help it fit snugly against the face while making a call, and a Teflon coating soft-touch finish, as well as a smudge-repelling screen.

Nice try from HTC

how much internal storage does it come with out of the box?

i don't care if it supports 10 million terrabytes with SD cards!

I watched this YouTube video and felt slightly disappointed by the end of it. The UI seems very sluggish to respond to finger swipes etc. Some nice features though.

It would annoy me if the screen only moves a second or so after I'd swiped the screen. The iPhone has spoiled it for me. I'm now watching part 2 of the review.

Contact integration is missing from the iphone natively which is a shame.

Im hoping they figure out how to make it more socially friendly like that.
TBH i wouldnt be too unhappy with it.

It does have many plus points though which I do like. Still not convinced about the case design but I could live with it.

Looks huge, but id imagine it's pretty decent with Android. WM6 is what RUINED the older gen's TBH.

Still rather the iDull, but I just ain't willing to pay THAT!! But i'm on T-Mob... so possible next purchase mebe

+1 mate... had the Diammond for a year now, can't wait to trade it in. I'm going for the n97. Loved my n95 and always regretted getting rid for the HTC. Called Orange the other day and the b******s put me on an 18 month contract when I got the HTC upgrade, I always thought it was 12 months. Looks like I have to wait until december for the n97.

Lol. I went from standard to Dutty a few months after buying it and now I'm using MacAdam v1.2. Looks much better, lots of it seems to work well but lots of it isn't quite right either. That's the problem with all of the custom ROMs they fix lots of stuff but break something else.
