I was just thinking....

Would there be any difference between using say a 3mm repair washer around each wheel stud as wouldn't it have the same effect of a 3mm spacer? I cant think of anything that would be wrong with it but obviously there is as i've not heard anyone doing it.

The wheel will still be sitting on the hub and the wheel will still be balanced.

Am I being stupid?

Lmao... no! To widen the track you half wit. Wouldnt it just act like a spacer?

I do see where your coming from. I mean between hub and wheel not outside of wheel lol

  ?
i'll order from wickes and ask them to deliver the washers....hey?

If you want to pay £20 for delivery... but im suprised you cant fit washers in your car? Then again this whole thread is shocking.

Dont do this. Hubcentric spacers or nothing imo... Washers are a ridiculous and very dangerous idea.

MY thread?

Lol keep your hair on and walk to wickes you ***** ;)

I have just looked at other forums and the question has been asked and the general opinion is no. The reason: the wheel is designed to spread pressure across the whole hub and by basically not doing so you run the chance that the bolts will fail under bumps etc and the best thing to do is buy a spacer.

Done.
