and then

lol no well hope not,the filter sat right infront of the passenger wheel which didnt help matters

it split the block from sump to head nearly

definitely hydro-fucked. lol. after seeing you've said the airfilter is right by the wheel arch. engine sucked a load of water. water can't be compressed. cracked ze block.

i know about hydrolocking (the engine wouldnt crack from change in temp that badly) i would of expected rods to bend or snap or blow out the side rather than it just crack like that!

hydrolocked, bent or cracked a conrod and held up for a bit then it gave way and split the block. ford sorted it under warranty ;)

I mean, after the engine went pete tong, did you put the standard airbox on before it went to be repaired?

hang on u hydro locked, bent the rod or what ever and still drove on it??

thats wat ford said had happened?

i still needed to get home so just drove it,thought being a ford it might just sort itself lol

yeah i didnt think they would of since it was water damage but they just went on and did it anyway lol

nice one, bit of a result!

Water is dodgy as fcuk, I'll never settle for tyres that are crap in the wet

exactly, I aquaplaned off the road near Newton Stewart at maybe 30mph when I hit standing water in my 182, sh4tpank!

Renault certainly wouldn't. They barely do the things that fall under warranty, let alone any extra-circular work!

to be honest renault done everything i asked of them when i had my 197

including replacing lamda probe in the exhaust 3 times, because the car was lowered the car scared its arse going in and my drive,in turn fraying the wires going to the lamda probe so it didnt work lol
