Now I know there was a Performance and a Style one... but what exactly did each consist of?!

AFAIK Cup Pack was only an option on 182's

Styling Pack - Cup Spoiler and Splitter

Performance - Cup Suspension + Anthracite Wheels

172 was purely FF or Cup

182 can be FF, FF + Cup Packs or Cup

as above but the performance pack was not only anthracite wheels but uprated suspension aswell.

they introduced cup packs for the 182 which is what has eben detailed.

on the 197 its different wheels(theres a choice) and brembo brakes

Thought I would use this thread as there are about a thousand, but what is the big difference between the non cup suspension and the cup suspension.

By this I don't mean spacing but general difference in there performance ect... and is it noticible compared with the non cup suspension.

stiffer and lower springs from memory. The hubs are different which makes aftermarket changes difficult

and a 182 ff is a cup packed 182

Noticiable difference?

Handling is noticably different and ride hight is noticable if next to each other.

obviously with sportlines the ride hight is substancially lower than standard so the dampers will be less effective as they're not designed to be that low. coilovers would be a good comparison and would work alot better at a lower ride hight than springs alone. You've got to remember the cup suspension is very good if you compare it to the trophy ones. If i remember rightly there wasn't much in it between the trophy and cup on a track test. Cup setup is a fraction of the money.

hubs are the same mate, so you could do. cost a fortune though at 1100quid +vat a corner. something like that anyway

They are gas dampers i believe (correct me if they're liquid :S), with reservoir on.

Yes but there are trophy suspension for sale now and again, the main point is would it handle like a trophy?
I can't see how there would be any other changes to make the trophy so much better apart from the suspension.

the seats are more comfortable and huggy and the one off paint, wheels and only 500 made. If you put the suspension on the cup it would be just the same though. Rear dampers are different also, not sure what springs are in the trophy dampers though.

you'd have to change the hubs mate, not sure how much that would be, and then cost of all dampers and spring all round. To be honest, having standard 182's gives you more scope to make the suspension more versitile. There are so many coilover options for the standard 182 without cup packs, so i'd go for them rather than cup suspension personally.

Hmmm good point. I definately don't want a cup. Just a cup packed 182.

Maybe it is best in the long run if I get a un cup packed 182 for when I decide to upgrade the suspension?

If you're looking at changing the suspension you'll be better getting a standard 182 without cup packs. Cheaper to upgrade suspension and much more coilover options. Think there is only 2 options for the 182 with cup packs and they're both 1K plus.

All the damper seats are the same size, so any uprated springs will fit the cup pack yes. It's only they hubs that are different.

Yeah obviously not as big a drop because the cup springs are shorter than the normal 182 ones
