Tuning and high mileage

Waste of time on high mileage? Just getting the power back that you have lost over the years?

Would be interesting to hear from anyone who has done this, lets say anything over 90,000 miles please nothing under that!

well i have a few in the pipe line fella, and will be tested on the rollers each stage at a time, so i have a fairly accurate idea of any increase in power

I'm sure that you can pay for a proper engine check up prior to anything being bolted on.

EG if you wanted bodies and were unsure about some stuff in your engine they will carry out a proper service/look for wearing parts etc?

Might be talking pish though  but IMO it can only improve the cars! They get better with milage apparently!

Well you can only check so much mate, a leak down test will give you a rough idea if there is any cylinder leakage, but i dont think there is much more you can do without stripping it

  172 - 249bhp @ the wheels
my engine was boosted on 90k and is on 105k now with no issues or problems at all. If it's done by someone that really knows what they are doing it's no problem. To be honest I think this thing will run forever on a completely stock engine.

There was an engine that had blew up when i went to joshydee's scrapyard for some bits... Piston had shot through the engine or something (im not mechanical) but it was fooked.

Engine was on 240k LOL!

I <3 your ph1 russ so hope you do something further with her :)

My mates G40 had a 170k on the clocks and was running about 40bhp over stock with a big wad of extra boost. If the engine is good condition should be fine. If it's down on power might be worth working out why. Engines nearing 200k have prob. seen some better days but a rebuild can make it like new again...often with some added performance after a rebore :)
