Stop - oil light?

For the last couple of days my 'stop' and what looks to be the oil light have been coming on and off regularly. I'm guessing its just a loose connection somewhere? since the engine oil is actually full and was only topped up a week ago.

Might sound stupid but do you park up on slopes at all, as this may indicate low oil.
When on my drive at home it says low oil even though on the flat it's over half.

I thought of this but it always seems to happen when i'm moving so the oil shouldnt be heavily on one side, although my drive is on quite a steep hill downwards.

Never f**k with oil faults. You may have plenty of oil in the sump, but that doesn't mean you have oil pressure. Get it looked at.

  Better than yours. C*nt.
I did check it.. its fresh oil and completely full? like I said in the OP.

Did you fill it on your drive by any chance? Check it on the flat. Also find a specialist who can work out if your oil pump is pumping...

Yeh but i've checked it in a lot of different flat places, it always comes back completely up to the max marker on the dipstick.

I'll have to look into finding someone as im not too mechanically minded.

Thanks

Could be a faulty oil presure sender (Had it on mine) need to get it checked properly tho as it might be telling the truth and you could end up with a shagged engine

Must be a faulty sensor or electrics, the oil is full and theres no signs of the engine lacking oil, sounds and drives completely normal and has done since the light first came on a while ago, although it was intermittent then.

Did you ever get this sorted mate? I just had mine serviced and now it has the stop light, and the oil can light come on every so often but the lcd display still reads oil ok???

Ive only driven 60 miles since the service and have checked the oil level myself and all is ok.....

Any ideas?

Generally it's a faulty oil pressure switch!! Check it hasn't been damaged, down by the filter! :)

You sure it's not the emissions light? Sure that's the only light which says 'stop'. Could be the hego sensor or cat that's gone in which case.
