Tyre stretch!!

got some momo GT's. they have 205/45 r16's on at the moment, was wondering if i could fit 195/40/ r16 on there as i need some stretch and slightly lower pro to get them under the arches on the rear.
and do all garages put stretch on tyres if you ask them to and if not does anyone in the bucks area know of anywhere that will put stretch on?

really want these wheels on and they are going to look real good when refurbed but trial fiotted one before the refurb and tyres were about 2mm clearence so they'll rub on even minor cornering.

any help appreciated!!!!!!

Shouldnt be a problem, 10mm Isnt a lot of difference, Its like on the 182 alloys, some people chose 205 width, where as others like myself choose 195 width.

I had 195/40/16s on my 8J wheels on my previous car; never had any issues

How wide are the wheels you're putting them on?

I used a place that had been recommended by a mate, mainly because they had done it before and knew what they were doing

how wide are the wheels?

Take a look on http://www.tyrestretch.com/index.php at your width wheels and what people have fitted to them

165s will be fine up to 7" wide wheel if your going to strech tyres to the extreme do it properly with a bead blaster;-)
