Dreaded speed bumps

Car  Clio172
All those with coilovers what height will i have to set the car at not to rip the front bumper/splitter off or bottom out?

Not fussed about having the car too low i am just interested in the performance on track. Lower than standard would be cool though.

Mine is lowered by 50 or 60mm all round with a large splitter and I have no problems. Just watch out for kerbs when you park!

Speaking from experience! lol.

I scrape here and there, there's afew bumps which I literally can't get over without scraping. Sometimes can get away with driving over them diagonally.

Like the halfords one, I always scrape my CF Splitter on that argh!!

Has anyone got a pick with something next to it i.e moblie phone to get a reference of size? (as some people do)
Obviously only speed bump friendly ones! or even better when fitting to let the car level you must have to measure to get each side equal?

How far from the floor does your front splitter sit 30mm?:S

Here's mine fitted with a 307 splitter.

Mine gets over speed bumps fine. I've lowered it to the point where the front arches fit uniformly around the wheel... if that makes sense.

The one thing you want to watch out for, is deep pot holes, or roads in really bad condition. Smacked my bumper the other day, and popped the arch liner out.

Cheers Dave 88 looks like you have the height i am after there. What is the gap between tyre and arch? pretty close?

Atouba great colour, in fact the best colour!;)

most speed bumps are 75mm high but can be up to 100mm at the highest point so if your wanting to play safe then make sure your front bumper is above that

probably between 10 and 20mm. Just enough so the front wheels don't rub round hard corners.

Speed bumps tend to be ok, its just steep hills that are bad for me. Like pulling out of various drives
