Got bored this evening so had a go at polishing the engine

i have started with the fuel rail cooler.

only got the half way through pic. but here it is.

i also decided to cut the bits of on the top and clean the front face.

hacksaw to remove the top lungs then orbital sander(from B&Q) 60 grit first then 120grit then 180 grit.then 180 grit by hand to get it in one direction.

like i said took all the nasty lumps of the front. now g3 cutting paste and elbow grease(or i go get the mop)

will add another pic when i have started polishing.
 
Ive been doing mine using a dremmel...ive got to the point where i think im gonna sed it to a polishers to have it finished along with the plenum

i just finished matching my inlets with a dremel. the out side just an orbital saner like i said. was about £30 from B&Q.
 
It's not a fuel rail cooler. lol. The fuel's temperature is fine.

It's just a guard to protect the rail in the event of a frontal collision.
