have you got those filter things on all of your 'phones?
Tiscali isnt tiscali anymore, reason your gettin s**tty speed's etc is because their TALK TALK, were also gettin problems here aswell,
you tried changing it to wireless?
have you rang them about the connection?
yep. i speak to a very helpful Indian chap who informs me that my connection is equivalent to 56k. I ask them what they can do about it and they say they'll get a specialist to run some tests and contact us in the next 24hours. i've done that 3 times and never heard back.
i would change provider... but it's all in ym stepdads name and he pays etci pester him to sort it but he doesn't seem too fussed.
well i've thought it could also be my wiring... as no-one in my area experiences similar problems (as far as i know anyway) but i don't know how to determine whether that's the fault of my wiring or tiscali.
so is there a solution to this problem? You may have too many devices on your line!
There's something called a REN (ringer equivalent number) which is 4 - most devices have a REN of 1, if you exceed it you could be trying to draw too much power down your line..
Tiscali can't issue him a mac code as his phone line is completely unbundled..that's what I've been harping on about..
TBH, there should be something easier in place to help customers make the move, the situation is stupid!
I'm guessing you mean you can't if you have a broadband/phone package with them?
How come your taking the filters off anyway? You need them wherever the phone line connects to a socket so obv it's going to cause havoc if you take them out. Just replace the filters with new ones, then run your router from your test socket and see if the problem is still happening.
