Hard acceleration causing knocking noise

Under hard acceleration I get a knocking noise, first thought was engine mounts but any other ideas?

Exhaust on heat shield? Or exhaust on anything else for that matter

this has been discussed too much, use the search

It's your exhaust manifold hitting the subframe/ARB . Just about every RS suffers from this. Mine got less when mounting the Powerflex dogbonebushes.

very common problem mate. Polybushing the dogbone mount and making sure the other engine mounts are in good condition should get rid of it.
