New Renault Clio Owner

Car  Clio 1.2/Lotus Metro
Hi im Darren, from Newquay, Cornwall

Ive just bought a 2002 Clio 1.2. After many years in the cruising scene with more powerful cars including a Pug 206 Gti, Lexus IS200 and Lexus Soarer 4.0 V8, and most recently a Nissan Navara 2.5td.

Ive got fed up with running costs as i mainly travel to work and back and few other short trips ive gone to the extreme of buying a 1.2. So far its been great im 28 so insurance is so cheap its crazy and compared to the Navara the amount of fuel im saving is amazing :)

Its pretty standard at the minute but im already thinking and buying bits for it and looking forward to some cheap motoring:D

You could run a 1.2 and a 172 for the price of fueling that Soarer :)

Small cars are always great fun, even if they're not quick.

Thanks for the replys guys :). Yeah the soarer was really thirsty great fun to drive mind, original i bought it cause it had nice wheels which i was going to put on my IS200 but they didn't really fit with out major arch work so i ran that for a bit :)

May consider a 172 or 182 in the future but considering i don't do much milage its not worth while at the moment

Not sure if Im supposed to post pics here or not lol but these are pics of some of the cars ive had :)

:)

Ive been building this metro for a few years in my spare time (not that a get alot of that) Its current fitted although not running yet with a 1.8 K-series from a Lotus Elise, with uprated rads and plans for a turbo.
The brakes have been robbed from a MGF Trophy (304mm discs), and wheels are 16" from a MGTF

Ive cut the roof off to form the pickup and welded on touring car style arches which are roughly 3 inchs wider each side.

Its currently in a shipping container as have moved house recently and waiting for the new workshop to be built, more time to spend on the Renault :)

I'm confused about the pickup.... so did it used to be a metro, now with a lotus engine, and an mg front end?

Am i just being special??
