Smoke from heater

Finally made it to work this morning in the snow but I absolutely stink of smoke now as there appears to be smoke coming out of the heater vents.

Any ideas what would cause this? If I turn the heating to cold its ok, but if I turn it up into the hot it absolutely stinks.

huh thats weird? i would have guessed clutch smoke or similar if it was coming out the bonnet too, either that or the heating fan but presumably that would do it hot or cold, i havent actually helped much huh, wild guesses lol
