beeping

Hi,

I have just brought a 2004 182, and have noticed a beeping sometimes when locking the car.

it is 3 short beeps after pressing the central locking button on the key.

it doesnt happen everytime, just now and then. I have read the manual and cant find anything...

any ideas???

its the alarm kicking in, well i think so because mine does it sometimes randomly lol, if i unlock my car and open the door to quick after disarming it, my alarm goes off. lol

if its the alarm arming then why doesnt it do this everytime?? it only beeps once in about every 10 times?

sometimes it happens if you shut the door and try it lock it straight away..

Apparently if you lock the doors too quickly after shutting down the engine there is some issue between the ECU and alarm communicating so you get the three beeps. Just unlock and re-lock and all is good.

Mine does the same! Boots not locking so maybe sommet to do with that?

I have read somewhere that apparently when turning off and locking quite quickly the ecu is still sending signals to the alarm saying the ignition is still on, once it realises it isn't it locks (after the beeping) how true this is I do not know... Shall investigate tomorrow
