What is this for? I am guessing something is missing with it. Never seen it mentioned on here before.

Yeh there should be tyre weld in there (or that's what mine has/had).

Had to take it our when ive got buckets, going to mount it some where else I think

Should just be an empty slot, on the later cars thats where they put the CD changer.

CD changer under drivers seat and that tray under tha passenger seat is the norm.
