i use a meguires drying towel from halfords, its probably the best invertments ive made in terms of getting a good finish.

As long as you pat dry, yes. If not, they are colapsed cell structure, so you need to be very careful. If you drag them across the surface, they will do as much damage as a chamois.

I had a set of waffle Souns der wunders for about a year. My car was black. I had to pat dry all the time and it was a PITA as if i wiped the pannels then it would marr f**k out of them.

Yup exactly! I try not to drag at all if I can avoid it, although after finally claying then rinsing there shouldn't be much on there but regular washing then drying can pick up a few stray particles.

Hated the Der Wunder towels. They were immediately demoted to engine bay work.

I bought a load of stuff off someone on here last year (anyone remember his BIG detailing clearout thread)

Mangaged to bag a load of Sonus stuff el cheapo.

The green polishing cloths and white buffing cloths are awesome. Der Wunder Towels...s**tTTTTT

Oh also note to self...dont put a white buffing towel in with blue MF's in the wash...they turn a bit blue

I personally don't like the microfibre drying towels the ones i have used dont pick up the water very well, I use a waffle weave towel http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-and-drying/huge-38-x-28-microfibre-drying-towel/prod_154.html brilliant towel, is about the size of half your clio's bonnet, turtle wax do one that looks identical apart from its blue, and you can get that in halfords. Chamois' are a pain cause they rip/fall apart when you wring them out, and they smell horrible when new.

Then they're either not towels (Cloths) or they're shite/old.

Invest in a decent one and it will work wonders, plain and simple.

I'm on my second one of these, they are very good at drying cars but not very good at drying gravel
