modified front bumper

Car  Clio 172 PH1
Hi guys,
Is there anywhere that sells a modified front bumper for a 172 ph1? The front wings are wider and a different shape where they meet the bumper (as you all prob know), I cut a modified bumper in half length ways and joined it to the standard one, fits but theres a lot of stress in it and its slightly mis shaped especially round the lights, any help would be good. I'll try to get pics up. Cheers, Pete

No, I have a sport ph1, the problem is where the front bumper and arch meet is a different shape, the modified bumpers all seem to be for non sport models, i joined the bottom half of a modded one to the top half of my standard one, looks good i think but just not right round the lights and has a lot of stress in it. Tried to get pics off facebook on here cos no pics on laptop.

Fair enough but just wanted some advice, was thinking of putting a standard one back on and doing something with it? Not painted or sod all yet so will look better, just in primer atm. Was thinking Polar White with gold alloys?

Most OEM bumpers don't fit properly anyway. Renault special feature so no two cars are alike...

Did you buy it like that, or have you done the work ? How old are you out of interest ? Also, your username disturbs and intrigues me at the same time :S

Done the work, wasnt going to do anything to it but curiosity got the better of me! 30s n the user name............ never looked at it that way before lol

If you want to fit that bumper you'll have to fibreglass and fill the edges to meet the edges of the arch.

Although I'd recommend fitting a standard bumper, ph2 rear bumper and spraying them that cookie dough colour :) and a cup spoiler would look lovely too.

No comment on skirts

Thanks, although I dont expect everyone to like it, the comments are welcome, the colour is just primer but a lot of people seem to like it!

I just spat tea everywhere at the sight of that.Put the standard bodykit on in that colour.

Oh dear, not liking it on here very much on here are you? It will look better finished, need to know what Im doing on the old Photoshop for different ideas......its in the making people so..................... When I said about getting the primer colour matched at the shop the guy laughed at me! I sprayed some gloss on the mirror to see how it looked but cos its taking so long Im getting bored as I go lol

see if they can get that primer colour in gloss! what colour was it originaly btw? good luck with the project

Looks a little like a spaceship! I was tryin to keep mine subtle but got carried away, the bonnet was an afterthought cos it was almost free! Im not a massive fan of the standard kit really, i bought a sport for the engine n the interior tbh.

You won't get a lot of love for something like that on here mate I'm afraid!
Admire you for the work you've put in. Each to their own I guess.
Did I read your in your 30's though ? :S

Standard kits part of what makes the car what it is, you're buying a light hot hatch an adding 35kg of fibre glass and filler so you can look like a spac. Each to their own and all that but you must be trolling dawg.

Hate to sound disrespectful but it's 10 years out of date. I'm surprised people can still get hold of these kits...

I suppose you ould get away with it a bit more if you ditched the skirt and bonet vents. but LOL i couldnt stop laughing at it.

^^^ thats just what i was gonna say,

mate why dont you just lash aload of petrol in it , and sling a match in there too,

put the horrible thing out of its misery.

and your in your 30's aswell, ,

dont want to sound rude mate,
but thats abit shizzel,

i like it n thats what matters really, love the way u all jump on the band wagon n start slating it, ive never tried to mod a car b4 n thought id give it a go, so in ur eyes i didnt get it right, advise is what i was after. ive decided 2 put a standard sport bumper back on with splitter n the cars being sprayed white, brake upgrade with braided lines, 182 manifold n decat.

Or everyone thought interdependently it was horrible - you cannot blame them for their opinion, go back to standard and get the whole thing done white - will look much better
