Airbag light

  Focus
Since buying my 182 I've constantly had the airbag/Serv light on, having plugged it into the computer at work it's coming up as drivers side airbag and something to do with the drivers seat pre tensioner.. By the looks of the wiring under the seat someone's had a go at redoing the wiring, they've removed the normal connector and replace them with little push in plastic things, not a technical person but they obviously arnt working..

What's the best way to sort out the light permanently? Is it easier just to permanently solder the wires together?

For the seats yes and if you don't have the ability to LOCK the detonators disconnect the battery before you do any work. Then simply create a nice soldered joint and protect it with a good quality heat shrink... Then you're done.

The drivers airbag fault will most likely be down to a busted clock ring which can be purchased and replaced on its own from RUK for around £86 iirc

Many thanks mick, that's helped a lot, I shall chat to a fellow friend so he can do the soldering for me, I'm guessing if this doesn't fix the fault its worth doing the other thing? What I'll do is I'll find out the exact codes if the soldering doesn't fix it and post it in this thread.

Many thanks

Where is this clock ring located out of interest? I'm currently attempting to track down the cause of this fault on my 172 cup.
