Looking to get a 172 track car...

  172 cup
Hi all,

Very new to all this but have joined to gain some knowledge.

Im looking to buy a 172 cup and use it for occasional track days eyc but also have it as a weekend toy on the roads.

From a track point of view is there anything essential I should be looking for when buying one perhaps already converted.

Is there anything expensive that normally goes wrong or is a regular fix with these cars?

And what would you class as essential kit for making them track worthy..

My previous track experience has come via a few days in an academy caterham so I appreciate the difference in spec / handling / speed etc.

Just want something fast agile and fun.

Cheers

Tony

The only expensive job on them is the cambelt/dephaser. Which is a £600 and a round trip to a specialist!
