197 Does this look too cheap??

That is very cheap...

Take a look at it, might just be desperate to get rid for other reasons.

They are coming down in price a fair bit now. However at that price I doubt the belts have been done so add 500 for that.

That would be a good explination :) Still there are a fair few between the 4500 - 5k mark cant believe how quick these have lost value!

Vehilce Condition Alert Register, I asume its some sort of register of cars that have been written off by insurance companies.

You can tell a mile off the bumpers look poorly sprayed / fitted and the sides look patchey to me, but it could well be my screen on the sides or that its dirty.

sneaky! not such a bargin as it seemed! As you say Adam few around for 5K now

EDIT: as above I didnt know what V car meant before this thread and would have missed it. thats why you always HPI

Instead of buying a shagged out 197 you could treat yourself to a trophy :)

I wonder where you could get one!

Steve

Horrifically, sellers (including dealers) are not required to state if a car is a Cat C/D - only if asked by the potential buyer must they legally provide the correct information.

I have nearly bought two cars that have been Cat D's, I only found out upon doing an HPi check in both instances!

I didn't know what it was before this thread... But I'd steer clear than any sub £5.5k 197.

they shouldn't be the price of expensive 182s yet lol

Why? One without recaros, cup chassis etc I don't see why it would be over £5k?

Fair enough the top spec ones will be pricey still.
