It's very enjoyable and a great game but its not a 10/10 game. No way.

The AI is dumb as f*ck, especially your companions. Also gets a little repetitive at times. Seems to be the same thing over and over.


Still, the story telling and overall game itself is very good.

I'm still not that far in, about 15% i'd guess and the amount of times i've had to resort to overtly killing because either one of the 2 gorps that i'm with is an oath is unreal.

It just could (should) of been so much better imho

I traded in Bioshock Infinite for it, the brilliant game that it was but I got stuck not long after getting it and couldnt be bothered. Got a tennner for it. It's not even three months old! Chrizist.

I traded in at GAME - the NEW Tomb Rader and Uncharted 3 and got a tenner for the pair!!!! The price on trade in is seriously ridiculous at present.

It's funny you should say that, as when I was watching my brother play a portion of it I thought the same. Although he seemed to reckon it was some of the best A.I he'd ever seen. Granted it's cool that when you knock debris over they hear you, but generally when in combat they do some thick as s**t things, and you end up having a close quarters aim for toffee gun spree.

Also companions seem to say complacent things like "I'll follow your lead", then proceed to jump in front of you practically dancing the night away.


That said from what I saw it's the best you're going to get (currently anywho) if you want a post apocalyptic survival type game. Some of the derelict areas and graphics look amazing.

I've found the A.I to be mongs on one particular part. I'm not far in but you come across a group of clickers and a few runners. Taking out one clicker at a time seems ok until I creep down the corridor and the woman knocks something behind me making the clicker come for me andkilling me as I've not managed to find enough s**t to upgrade my shank. I've since got pissed off at this part and haven't touched it all weekend.

When your companion is running around zombies and solidiers and bumping into them and making a load of noise, and the enemies aren't noticing anything, that automatically means it can't be 10/10 IMO. It's just looks terrible.

I love the atmosphere and world but the combat sections are lame. Same old cover based stealth stuff but not as good as other games do it. I also don't like the way it fakes you into playing it stealthy by doing crap like not letting you loot ammo from people you kill even though they have a loaded gun.

Definitely not a 10/10.

Good game but giving it a 10 is laughable. I think it deserves the same scores that Tomb Raider got, maybe a tad less.

Edit: Yeah definitely agree with Scone about the derelict areas and stuff looking awesome. Can't wait to get back on it tonight.

The part I was stuck at earlier seems to have solved itself overnight. Went in with a plan for the clickers and once the game was loaded I noticed I was the other end of the room an no enemies in sight. Strange.

Yeah. The game gets better as you go on. I would play through it again I think but just wanted to let someone else taste it.

The AI is poo at times, and the combat is pretty weak. That said, it feels like I'm trying fine things to nitpick over. It is a wonderful game; which without those flaws would probably be going down one of the very best ever (maybe it still will...).
Some of the scenery is just incredible, the way companions behave is pretty impressive at times, and you cannot deny the story is immersive.

But christ, if this was a film, which at times of feels like it is, cinemagoers would be emotional wrecks.

I'm stuck at a certain point, loads of infected down below us, drop down and have to take them out using stealth. One clicker in particular always gets me, creepy b******s.

I've already mentioned some flaws with The Last of Us that prevent it being the 10/10 game the likes of IGN say it is.

For my money Tomb Raider is the best game I've played this year. Beats The Last of Us hands down in my opinion. The Last of Us is a better interactive movie (that is ruined by some lame combat) where as Tomb Raider is a miles better GAME.

The more I play of this the more I'm impressed. It really is brilliant.

Yeah it has flaws, (a few bugs I've come across including popping out of the water when swimming and floating on the top) but I don't care now - I'm enjoying it so much.

It's like all the best bits from Uncharted, Half Life & Heavy Rain with bits of Fallout & Alan Wake thrown in.

been playing this today and have got to 20% and hit my first hard clicker, got past the first couple easy enough but I'm in the rooms where my co-helpers are waiting for me to clear it, i have 3-4 turned men and a clicker and I've tried about 15 times now and can't get past it, doing my head in, the clickers are impossible once they lock on to you.

loving the visuals in the game though, and it reminds me a lot of World War Z i went to watch yesterday.
