Engine Bay Cleaning Help

Ive always gone with G101, plenty of small/medium brushes & cloths. People pressure wash the bays but that scares the jeeba's outta me 
As above, I use G101 or R222 with lots of different brush sizes. Dress the plastics in 303 Aerospace, bit of AF Mercury on the Stainless Fixings & Aircon pipework and some Swissvax fabric cleaner for the rear firewall carpet.
I spent a fair few hours on mine initially, now I just stay on top of it with a wipe over when I clean the car.

I usually drown it in gunk, leave it for a bit, agitate with a brush and then pressure wash the bejeesus out of it with it running. usually it cuts out so leave a while, whip plugs out and empty water etc from wells then fire it up again
will usually run lumpy for a bit till it warms up and dries out
that's just the initial clean when I get a car, after that its wipe overs to stay vaguely on top

Carpro Perl is great on the trim bits/hoses tooYou are kidding? And if not, suggest the OP ignores this. Entirely.

My advice to the OP is please ignore advice fromCoops Turbo, listen to what JD and magpieV6 have said.
A liberal use of a decent All Purpose Cleaner followed by brushes and damp mf cloths should be sufficient, however I often keep a spray bottle of water to hand as this can assist in removing/rinsing hard to reach places. You can control where the water spray goes so as long as you're sensible and use common sense you should be fine.

More the head - if you're giving out that advice and someone is stupid enough to follow it, I doubt you'd be fussed about the bills if something went wrong pal!

Fair enough, perhaps I should of added the age old disclaimer 'don't try this at home' or whatever.
I'm not getting into an arguement about it,its no skin of my nose how the chap decides to clean his bay and I forget that anything like this is always deemed inflammatory and a no go on CS. As such I retract my previous statement,crack out the cotton buds and toothbrush op

Thats how I do mine. And have done on hundred of cars without a single issue.

Thanks for the help and advice guys! Think I'll follow what this guy does though, his bay is nice and tidy and people seem to be agreeing with what procedure he follows. Thanks again!

Cillit Bang any good for degreasing an engine bay? i've got tones of the stuff and the bay could do with a clean

Looking very nice Lawro! have your inlets etc been sprayed?
to be fair Lawro's attention to detail is simply outstanding, the lads a genius at the little touches and you wont find a cleaner bay.
me, I'm lazy, hence the quick fix

Powdercoated mate, I purchased some matched inlets and sent them off to a local company along with the fuel guard, upper engine mount and a few other bits. Quality is spot on, well worth the money!
