    Rear disc will not budge!

Success followed by immediate failure! Using a lump hammer, i managed to get the disc off after much hammering. I then went to bolt the caliper back on (using the correct torque setting of 60nm), and promptly stripped the caliper thread. Looks like a new caliper may be needed. So much for a...

    Rear disc will not budge!

Thanks for this - I forgot to mention that the reason I am changing the discs is due to a knackered bearing, caused by... a lack of spacers! The side with the knackered bearing came off easily. I have been reading up elsewhere, and some people suggest a sledgehammer...

    Rear disc will not budge!

Hi, So I thought i'd get my hands dirty and have a go at changing my rear discs / pads. This has not gone as smoothly as I have hoped, and I've had to give up for the day with my car still on stilts. One disc slid right off, the other will not budge.. i've tried: Hammer Bigger hammer lots...

Relay - where has this come from?

Thank you for the reply, and sorry for the late response! So, should this slot into the top side of the white plugs? It's hard to see from underneath the glovebox a place where the relay could be located. Please see the views I have of the UCH from within the car. Any ideas where it should go...

Relay - where has this come from?

Hi, I have found a relay with the reference 77 00 414 484 in the passenger footwell of my clio. I think it has come from the UCH, but cannot see from underneath the glvoebox where it would slot in. The only fault that i've noticed that may be related to this missing relay are the fog...

I've just come to post the exact same thread - i'm about to replace the 3rd bearing in around 2 years. I'll check the spacers! Cheers

172 Cup: Cracked Exhaust / Cat

Well. My exhaust just snapped where the crack was (see photo). Strapped it up and driven 40km with my car sounding like a panzer tank. So I have a new problem - France is useless, and i cannot get a hold of this exhaust fitting kit until the middle of next week as none of the garages (tried 3)...

172 Cup: Cracked Exhaust / Cat

I don't suppose you have a Renault part number for the fitting kit do you? It would save me trying to explain it in French (waving my arms about and pointing). Thanks

172 Cup: Cracked Exhaust / Cat

Ok i'll take the risk and put the decat on then! It'll give me something to do whilst waiting for the garage to finish welding. Cheers!

172 Cup: Cracked Exhaust / Cat

Thanks Fred, I'll give it ago this weekend. Alternatively, I have a KTR decat pipe i could put on instead (http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=2034&appid=2). I'm scared to do this as it is already bloody noisy with a KTEC supersports stealth - how much worse do you think it would...

172 Cup: Cracked Exhaust / Cat

Hi, The other day i rolled over a curb coming out of a car park. It was dark and turned out to be bigger than expected - my mistake. I've cracked what i believe to be where the manifold connects to the cat - please see photo below. I've been told by a local mechanic that he can weld this...

    Inconsistent Performance - 172 Cup

Thanks for the advice, unfortunately i cannot take it to a specialist around here to check these things, and i'm going to struggle explaining this in French. I'll see what i can do.. Thanks!

    Inconsistent Performance - 172 Cup

Hi, For a while, I have noticed that my 172 Cup performs much better on some days (or driving sessions) than others. Now, i understand that the weather can make a difference - sure, when it is moist, and after rainfalls the car often performs wonderfully. However, the difference seems to be too...
