I have an 53 plate STI PPP, they are pretty good. Reliability 100%, servicing costs are pretty cheap too. Petrol, well who cares. Have to let me know what what the tyres are like. Enjoy !!!!
I suspect you may be disapointed with the straight line speed, they are an old car now. But throw it down a lumpy B road in the wet or dry and they are great fun.
I knew renaults were unreliable, but these tales of woe appear every day here. I looked at a 182 cup the other day, very nice drive, looked good and sounded nice. The only thing i found was that it really didnt seem all that quick (maybe tight) but this reliability is really putting me off now.
I remember a lot of talk about the RS being modified, especially as no-one has ever got near those figures again as standard. Now bluefin is a different matter, they are quite rapid.
Logic says get a cruddy 1.2 anything for 6 months and get to grips with handling the car to its limits (not very high) maybe a bit of heel n toe and left foot braking and then get the 182. Forget that ! Just get it, but dont lift off on a corner at speed.
That sounds good then, Ill have to steer her in that direction. I drove my sisters VTR the other day and must admit I forgot how awful the driving position was and how exposed you feel.........coming from my jap tank.
At least the mpg will start with a 3 again
My girlfriend is looking for a newer car and Im pointing her towards a 172, just wondering what the grip is like? I used to have a VTS and the backend was very twitchy on uneven surfaces, is the 172 a bit more planted?
cheers
From what I have read about the megane (I know its the same as driving it) it blasts the focus in a straight line but the handling is no where near as good.
