I would like to know if it's possible to fit the other way. A 1*2 wheel onto a 197 as i would like to have a wheel covered and some carbon thumb grips. Mines a cup so no CC issues.

The other thing is if he's given you the new owner slip, did you see the rest of the log book? If he had the log book and it was written off whilst in his ownership he would have been asked to return that log book to the DVLA, not sure if thats an offence or not but it is something he should...

If he's told you it's never been crashed but owned it at the time it was written off, the HPi report will tell you the date then clearly he has lied and you have the proof. I'd be asking for a refund.

So it's been written off since you bought it. Was it damaged/dented when you bought it? freshly painted?

Check the date on your tax disc, it'll tell you if they did tax it that day or if it's from 6 months earlier it came with the car. It sounds like they've done wrong and if you approach them right will/should be very helpfull, they'll not want to have done anything wrong/illegal
