The prices are more than fair and have been gone over by 3 other people to make sure. If you don't like the price you are free to buy the parts new.

Do NOT post offers in this thread, I will ignore them. If you would like to buy an item PM me and I will give you my paypal address, upon receipt of payment I will take the part off the list. I will ammend the list as I recieve payment and untill I recieve payment it's first come first served on everything.

I have also asked the series organisers if I can run a 197 with a Turbo Megane engine in it. It does not specifically dissalow this in the regs and with a lifeline ECU with switchable traction control and automatic launch that would be rather epic I wager.

,

Yes, the 197 should be next.:approve:

As sad as I actually am now in hindsight to see my Clio gone I am happy to say I now have an Audi S3 Turbo quattro and am going to start posting in here tomorrow all about it as I know youre eager for another one of my OCD builds LOL. This ones a beast!!

So here we go to get you started :) My new Audi S3 ex time attack car. Makes 500bhp with the large turbo on but is tatty and needs my analness on it toot sweet!

Question????

I will be painting the interior of this car white as currently it is black. So I have bought a nice white with the hardner from the automotice suppliers here and a compressor and HVLP gun etc. So how much prep do I have to do on the current cage as it is already very smooth being black and fo course there is no rust? Do I just use the degreaser I also bought on it with the scotchbrite? This left a white haze all over it by the way. Do you wipe that off with a soft cloth?

  Cup In bits
Arite Mark fair beasty you have got.

Just scotbright for a key and rub down any rough bits then degrease it and paint.

Make sure the degreaser is paint friendly so it sticks. Tack cloths are good for picking up bits of dust from the rubbing down.

Im sure it must be as I bought it from the same place but i will check. I just wondered with it as it does leave a haze on everything.

Doubt it. HVLP and airless spraying are totally different so not sure how this does both.

Might be ok for interior spraying if you're not looking for anything special.

Have you got a compressor? All you would need is a second hand devilbiss HVLP gun with gravity cup.

So you get a better finish from a compressor then, thought so. Is gravity cup better than suction fed? How do you do the roof with a gravity cup?

  BMW Z4
Strip started.. Yes it was under a pine tree for a while LOL

So what have I found out so far?

The engine is.

Audi AXX S3 block with

Lightened and balanced crank
Forged ARM rods
Forged Pistons
Custom sump

on top of this is a Golf gti 16 valve head with cam to valve direct buckets

Race cams
Lightened valves
Race springs
Custom rocker cover by Spec R

Revs to 9200 if asked Oerrr

Spec R Intercooler
Spec R Rocker Cover
Spec R condensator unit
Spec R radiator

I have 3 garret turbos with it one of which is huge, the smallest one is fitted for obvious power reasons

Turbosmart gate 50 to totally custom 70mm downpipe and exhaust
Tubular exhaust manifold

The engine is mounted solid as is the dogbone

The rear of the car is all Golf Mk5 suspension

The haldex is switchable on or off

This all sits on AST suspension

Not a bad spec methinks.

Wow! That looks like you have got a fun road ahead of you Mark lol :) look forward to seeing you put your touch on it! What are the plans for it? General tart and tidy up or full rebuild, refresh engine etc?

Better atomising with a compressor. As long as you have enough paint in the cup you should be ok on the roof.

Really smart car you have there!

AXX is an early Mk5 Golf GTI block, not an S3 one S3 would be BHZ,BHC or CDLA. There's soooo little S3 left in that .

Learning all the time. Amazes me how much VAG stuff is interchangeable

You shouldn't be they are all the same cars and it his how they make so much money, they have amazing economies of scale. I think they have the record for the most cars off the same platform!!

tatty? that's being kind! Looks like its been banger racing through a forest! It was a bit rough when i saw it at silverstone last! I'm sure you'll work your magic though (try and keep this one a bit longer!) Sam has a NEW gearbox for one of these with a drexler diff going spare (irecall it had some box issues before!)

Drexler Fred? Is that gripper for the Audi world?

Question? paint spraying

1. Mini gravity fed gun
2. Larger gravity fed gun
3. Suction gun
4. Paint pressure pot?

which is best?

I worry with the gravity fed gun you wont get an angle for the roof?

Mark.

PS
My comp puts out 14.4 CFM by the way.

  Audi A6 & 172 Cup
Have a look at 3M PPS system, gravity fed but the cups basically colapse in on themselves as the paint is drawn from them so they dont die out on you.

You will probably need a mini gravity fed gun too, certain bits you will struggle with no matter what you use.

Going from black to white will be quite hard to do, any areas that are a bit shy with paint will stand out a mile.

Once you've prepped it, use some 400grit on any areas that need it, otherwise a red scotchbrite should be fine. I would mix up some of the paint in a wee pot, no thinners and allow it to start curing, ie once it's starting to go quite thick, probably need to leave it an hour or two depending on temp. Use some half decent artist brushes, about 1/2" wide but quite thin/flat and get some paint onto the back side of the hard to reach tubes, if you lay it on smooth enough, once it dries you'll not know it was brushed on, especially being white. Once it's fully cured, you could flatten it back a little with some 600 if you want.
When you come to spray the rest, you'll hopefully cover most of it but if you dont, at least its white and wont be so obvious.

Thanks kenny all ordered now and on its way. Big week this week.

Block

Crank

Come back from the machinists

Big box of parts comes back from the powder coaters and I can start painting everything white.
