I wondered the same as you when I had to get mine replaced last year. After some research and talking to GDi this is bassically what I concluded: The rear brakes do bugger all so just stick to the factory discs and pads. As said above, make sure you get the ones with the ABS rings though...

I had a 106 GTI before my 182 and must admit that the brakes were the only thing I was disappointed with when I got it. Even with Brembo discs and renault pads on, I thought the discs were crap! Other people seem hell bent on defending them during conversations, but I can't see why. As...

Good stuff. I do love Imprezas. My step dad got one in the late '90s and it was the first lengthy experience I'd had with a really fast car. They're awesome to drive but unfortunately are like clitorises though these days. Has he tried any of the Evos out?
